The Woodlands family outings
Personally, we haven’t done many family outings in The Woodlands, but we plan to. A few of these attractions we have experienced, others will happen soon!
The Woodlands is a master-planned community.
Businesses, neighborhoods, and hiking/biking trails are nestled in thick stands of native trees. It’s a gorgeous place to visit. My family lives just on the outskirts near the new Springwoods Village area. So, it easy for us to bounce back and forth between Spring and The Woodlands. These are the things that we have noticed in the area.
The Woodlands Children’s Museum
Ideal for kids toddler age to 10. Much smaller than the Houston counterpart- but still just as much fun, and easier to keep track of your kiddos. It’s a fun way to start the day. Be sure to check the calendar to see what special events are happening each week.
The Woodlands Trolley

Why drive all over town getting lost because the trees all look the same?! Ride the trolley instead!
Two vintage Woodlands Trolleys travel throughout Town Center and run from 11:00am – 8:00pm, Monday through Saturday, and 12:00pm to 6:00pm on Sunday. There is no charge to ride the Trolley. Check the route to be sure that you will be taken where you want to go.
Market Square in The Woodlands
Whether you are meeting friends for a picnic play date at Central Park, catching a movie at Cinemark, enjoying wine on ladies night, or enjoying a much overdue date night-this is the place to be! In the summer, there is a great splash pad to run through.
The Woodlands Waterway
Located at 31 Waterway Square Place (77380), the one-acre facility at Waterway Avenue is near to restaurants, entertainment venues and retail outlets. You can also enjoy a boat ride down the waterway.
Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion

There are events happening all the time at this local outdoor ampitheater that operates as a 501(c)(3).
Occasionally you can catch a free event, or sit on the lawn for no charge.
Spraygrounds
Isn’t that such a fun name!? There are at least five located throughout The Woodlands. Spring has a few as well. This is a great way for the whole family to stay cool without a membership.

Woodlands Community swimming pools
Non-residents can purchase a daily pass and go pool hopping. With 14 to choose from, it should be a blast! Rob Fleming Aquatic Center is a favorite! Featuring a lazy river, water slides, splash features, and fountains.
George Mitchell Nature Preserve
Biking and hiking on trails- 12,000 acres of forest on both sides of Spring Creek, and is located in Creekside Village which is tucked right between Spring and The Woodlands.
